I'm Brooke Burns, Principal and Founder of Storyfield Grant Writing & Fundraising Consulting. I started Storyfield to advance the causes that matter to me. My focus is on making grant work more manageable for small to midsize nonprofits that strengthen communities and drive social change. I know what it looks like when capable, hard-working teams have to make the best of limited capacity, saying yes to grants that aren't quite right, missing opportunities they never had time to find or pursue, and watching funding shape programs rather than the other way around. How I Work

My role is to take the weight of grants off your plate, bringing structure to the funding side of your work so your team can stay focused on serving your community rather than on chasing deadlines.


I collaborate with executive directors, development and program staff, and boards to clarify funding priorities and create clear plans that lean teams can realistically own and sustain.


I work within your organization's realities to develop practical grant strategies, craft compelling narratives, and manage the proposal and reporting process.

As Storyfield's Principal and Founder, I bring over two decades of experience in grants and fundraising to your team. In addition, I am an active member of the Global Grant Writers Collective and regularly partner with other experts in design, strategy, and institutional funding. These collaborations provide the flexibility to meet each client's unique needs, from developing complex federal proposals to quarterly newsletters and year-end appeals.
